phone access is limited

Why is it that when I go to my iphone settings, The first item on the list of my name, Apple ID, iCloud etc is greyed out and I cannot access it? how do I unlock this?

It sounds like you have Screen Time Content & Privacy Restrictions enabled.


Navigate to Settings > Screen Time > Content & Privacy Restrictions


You can turn off Content & Privacy Restrictions entirely from this page. Alternatively, you can scroll down to Account Changes and ensure it is set to "Allow".
