Calendar Invitation Issues After ios17

After upgrading to ios17, I am having two issues whenever I accept a calendar invitation on my iPhone. First, I send dozens of "accepted" messages to the organizer (every 15 minutes). Second, I send a new invitation to all participants on the invite for a new event with the same title as the invitation I just accepted that is scheduled for 15 minutes into the future.

This only happens when I accept invitations from the iPhone Calendar/ Mail programs. It does not happen when I accept on a computer.
