Watch locks automatically on wrist and need to press crown , I want always on

watch does not unlock to lifting wrist. I need to press crown and hold down each time I want to use it

I understand from your post that your Apple Watch display does not become fully active when you raise your wrist, but it does activate when you press the Digital Crown.


The first place to check is Control Center (press the Side Button for WatchOS 10, or swipe up on the watch face for earlier versions) and make sure you have not activated Theatre Mode (the button with 2 smiling face masks should be black) or an unwanted Focus mode.


The other place to check is Settings / Display & Brightness / Wake on Wrist Raise = ON (green)
