I just bought 200gb storage but still saying not enough space

Can’t download the update even though I just bought the 2.99 dollars storage

The update screen is referring to device storage, not iCloud storage. If you don't have enough storage for an update, see here: If you need more space for an update on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch


Note that you cannot upgrade device storage without buying a new device.

  • Device storage is on your phone.
  • iCloud storage is on Apple's servers, which is what makes it useful for synchronizing iPhones, iPads, and Macs that can all access the Internet.
  • Many of the things that you store in iCloud take up both device storage and iCloud storage. The iCloud storage lets your iPhones, iPads, and Macs post updates for each other, if and when they connect to the Internet.
