Phillips Hue Not Connecting to HomeKit

ALCON,

I tried connecting Phillips Hue 2.0 bridge to Apple HomeKit, and I receive an error: "Apple Home sync error. The operation couldn't be completed. (HFErrorDomain error6.)" I recently bought a new HomePod mini to act as the HomeKit bridge.

Here are the troubleshooting steps I have tried.

  1. Confirmed devices are on the same network. I have a mesh WiFi network, and I made sure the bridge and HomePod are devices were connected to the main gateway.
  2. Confirmed that I am running the latest update for iOS (17.0.3) and firmware for all Philips Hue products.
  3. Completed a hard router reset (i.e., unplugged everything for one minute and plugged back in).
  4. Factory reset the Philips Hue Bridge.
  5. Went verified necessary permissions on iPhone Settings > Hue > Home Data (On) and Settings > Privacy & Security > HomeKit > Hue (On).
  6. Toggled both permissions settings off, restarted my phone, and turned settings back on.
  7. Deleted and recreated my home in HomeKit.
  8. Verified HomePod mini is running the newest firmware.
  9. Tried connecting Hue bridge from another iPhone running iOS17.0.3 and iPad Pro running iPadOS 17.0.3
  10. Verified that Bluetooth was on and tried both iPhones and iPad again.
  11. Moved HomePod next to Hue Bridge.

Between each step I tried reconnecting the Hue Bridge to HomeKit receiving the same error.

I have read every relevant third party website and Reddit forum looking for an answer with no luck.

ever since hitting upgrade to apple home new architecture it hasn't worked. Hue will work directly but won't connect to apple home. I had to buy a homepod mini but that didn't make hue sync work. I've already tried everything here and then some. called xfinity, apple, philips hue and the fault seems to be with philips hue. Already have the latest xfinity modem. Philips hue told me they were aware of the bug and would put out an update. well my firmware on my bridge just got the new update 1.62.1962097030 and still broken. Just got the new 17.3 from apple still broken. xfinity said my modem supports mdns so that's not it. and so we wait for this matter garbage to fix their bugs. until then i'm stuck using shortcuts on my home screen to adjust the lights. According to many other forums this problem is widespread.

Most of you probably already know… if using a mesh network with multiple nodes + router, you must be on the same node as the hue for setup to connect when not using matter.

It might not be the router… completely resetting any brand router, replacing router (even with same model) even the xfinity 7, has worked for 9 different home’s with hue bridge and iOS connection issues.

Go to accounts.phillips website, not the app, log-in to account, select “my Philips home system.”

Choose correct home and hub (most of you will only have one). Under applications, remove any link to iOS’ home kit.

This is for non-matter setups.
