I would like to have only one of my folders that I keep on my desktop, also to be available in the cloud so that it can be acessed on my iPhone as well. I do not want all the folders from my desktop to be in the cloud, and I would like to be able to SEE this folder on the desktop as well. Is this possible to accomplish, and if so how does one go about making this happen?

If you only plan to sync a few items, drag those items into the iCloud Drive folder on your Mac. Only files in that location sync (unless you also enable desktop and documents in which case those locations sync too).

Thanks for answering! I see, however I do not wish all of my documents or folders to be stored in the cloud, only this one in particular so that I can access it on my iPhone when I'm not at my laptop...so if the desktop is synced will I be able to prevent all my other things from being stored on the cloud?
If you sync desktop and documents in iCloud Drive, your files from your desktop and your documents folders will be accessible and remain on your computer.
