How to add 2 Gmail accounts to iPhone, showing both account addresses

I'm new to iPhone so I know I must be doing something wrong. I can see and read emails, it's just the way they're shown in ACCOUNTS

I have 2 Gmail accounts. Let's call them mary@gmail.com and bob@gmail.com. Whichever I add first, it is shown in the accounts list as Gmail. The other shows as the email address. Adding Mary first, then adding Bob first:

Gmail

bob@gmail.com

Gmail

mary@gmail.com

How do I add them so they both show with their actual email addresses?

I have searched the community but there are tons of issues with adding Gmail accounts but I haven't found any that address this issue.
