Apple Music playlist covers are blank on iPhone

I updated to iOS 17.4.1 today and new playlists still do not display album artwork

How long are they going to keep it this way? Just give us the option of having the album art instead of the plain covers.

I agree. I hate how it does not show the album artwork anymore. It’s lame. Apple needs to go back to the old way. Huge thumbs down to this update. 👎

That’s very interesting! I will try this tomorrow in ITunes. I don’t have a MacBook, I have a PC. I’ll get back to you guys in a few hours with another update! Fingers crossed this works. I think it will! It’s basically the same concept!

i really hate this update it was so unnecessary and very ugly being blunt. the original layout for playlist covers was iconic. it is also very ironic that they give the user the ability to chose five different quite ugly cover options and none of them are virtually the easiest one to compile(being the genuine default of the four album covers)

This is the company that hasn’t figured out how to sort photo albums or icons on a Home Screen. But this is worse. They had a feature and took it away!

I love my iPhone (mostly) but the VP in charge of software development for iOS should be fired.

What I've started doing is picking one image as the playlist graphic. It's a little inconvenient because in places like Amazon (looking up a CD album cover) or in Apple Music I can't save the image. So I have to google it, save it to my iphone then use it. It's better than nothing.

Have you tried to "Copy to Play Order"? Click the three dots ... in the circle on the right hand side and scroll down to "Copy to Play Order." The album art should appear in the playlist art box. If not... well must be an Apple Music glitch again. Good luck!

Heard but haven’t tried is to create the playlist on your Mac. If synched, new playlists with album art should populate on phone. Haven’t tried

It seems the album cover collage option has been restored for new playlists - I would like to thank Apple for listening to its clients - much appreciated.

Thanks @oonlamant! This worked for me. Great idea to duplicate an older list and just edit and rename.

We shouldn’t have to do any tricks. This was a feature that was working and was removed!!!

Apple will start charging $0.99 a month for the old style playlist covers.

Apple should refund each customer $0.99/month until the prior option is restored. For reduced functionality, we should pay less.
