☁️ My iCloud storage is 3.2 GB used out of 5 GB . The software update
17.1.1 is 2.95 GB .
3.2 + 2.95 = 6.15 Is this correct …do I not have enough space ?
Also , is it possible to turn off iCloud for an item on one device only ?
Some of my information doesn't need to be on all of my devices . It appears to me that I'll loose it all if I turn it off ? If that's the case , how do I free up iCloud storage space without loosing content ?

A1. You have plenty of space. This would be local stored on your iPhone --it would not be uploaded to iCloud. So, no worries there: What's the Difference Between Device Storage and iCloud Storage? - Apple Support
Loss of iCloud Data:

My software update is for 17.1.1 , I haven't installed any of the previous 17's
( 17 , 17.0.1 , 17.0.2 etc.) , is it okay that way ?
You can only install the current version of iPadOS, in this case, 17.1.1. It has all the updates from the previous versions included. So yes, the only way to update from iPadOS 16 is to go directly to 17.1.1.
