Mac os 14.1.2 move print job to another printer

It used to be possible to drag and drop a print job from one printer queue to another printer simply by dragging and dropping. With recent updates, that no longer seems to be possible. So if a print job gets sent to wrong printer, how can it be moved to the desired printer?

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 14.1

Looks like the UI needs some catching up. You can do it from the command line.

  • Open Terminal
  • Run `lpstat` to find the print jobs
  • For each print job listed ("foobar_printer-XXX" where the name of the printer is "foobar_printer", and the print job is "XXX"), run `lpmove XXX new_printer`.

You'll see the jobs move in the UI.

Thank you for the Terminal solution it worked. I had a lot of documents in the wrong print queue, and the printer jammed and I lost a few. The Terminal solution posted definitely works, but I the point is valid I am much more conformable and would know which documents I need to reprint if the drag and drop option was still available. Macs ability to drag and drop things is the kind of user friendly culture that defined the company. I can work with lunix, I can work with dos prompts, I can use terminal. I can pay for non apple laptops and in the future I will. Buffet was right
