Apple Music doesn't work after Sonoma 14.3 update

MBP 2021. Since updating to 14.3 last night, Music will not play any tracks from my library. If I try to play from an album, nothing happens at all. If I try to play from a playlist, I get the beachball and have to force quit. I'm a music teacher and use these playlists every day, please advise!

This worked for me and was quite painless, so hopefully, it may help some of you also.

I went into Music>>Settings>>Files and changed the location of my Music Media Folder, which then generates a new Library file but doesn't move the audio files. I then went back in and changed it again, back to it's original location and the Library file rebuilt again, after which Music worked perfectly.

Sadly this didn't work for me. I completed the two steps but the Apple Music icon still "bounces" once and never opens when clicked. Attempting to open the application from within Finder also results in the same outcome. Sonoma 14.3 broke Apple Music on my Mac Studio and 14.4 and 14.5 haven't provided a fix. Apple Music won't open anymore.

I can't load the apple music app because my company has my computer locked down so I can't login to apple.

However, I've been using music.apple.com in my browser to get around it without any issues, but with the Sonoma upgrade, I can no longer even sign in to music.apple.com. I've tried both with password and passkey on both Chrome & Edge.

It doesn't give me any errors, I just remain signed out of apple music. There's a red bar across the bottom of the page encouraging me to "Try it now," but when I click the button, it says I'm already a subscriber.

Any recommendations for browser-based playback?

I tried Tim Barron's solution and it worked as well for me. It is still not 100% clear to me what Music did to my library. My library is backed-up on OneDrive, and according to the log the music files were reshuffled. I feel like the changes from the Sonoma 14.3 update broke the library, and re-importing it "relinked" the files...

Anyway, that was a very good catch, thanks!

I also went to Music>>Settings>>Files, and saw the location in the window. Then I, possibly stupidly, hit "reset". Music app still didn't work. I again went to Music>>Settings>>Files , dropped down to my music media folder, created a new untitled folder, dragged the media folder there, and then back to its original location. Music app is still not responding, playing one song only. I'm unable to select any other songs. I have mostly my own recordings, the only purchase was a U2 album.

It either gets stuck on a U2 song or a single song that I recorded.

I have no idea what to do. I do have AppleCare, and I'll probably have to call them, but I would prefer to fix it myself as a learning experience.

Any help would be appreciated.
