Apple Music doesn't work after Sonoma 14.3 update

MBP 2021. Since updating to 14.3 last night, Music will not play any tracks from my library. If I try to play from an album, nothing happens at all. If I try to play from a playlist, I get the beachball and have to force quit. I'm a music teacher and use these playlists every day, please advise!

This worked for me and was quite painless, so hopefully, it may help some of you also.

I went into Music>>Settings>>Files and changed the location of my Music Media Folder, which then generates a new Library file but doesn't move the audio files. I then went back in and changed it again, back to it's original location and the Library file rebuilt again, after which Music worked perfectly.

I'm going to answer my own post. It turned out I did something incredibly stupid. I unintentionally dragged all my Music into documents (don't ask me how). I ended up calling Applecare, and was eventually connected to a senior tech who logged onto my screen told me what to do. It took about 20 minutes to undo my screwup.

It turns out I had a similar issue. My music library is stored in iCloud which lives in the folder Macintosh HD/Users/rene/Library/Mobile Documents/iCloud Drive/. Once I gave the Music App full disc access, I was able to play my music again. Apple could have saved me hours by just giving me a proper error message why the music is not playing :/

Unfortunately this didn't work for me. The only thing that has worked for me is to "Right-click on the track you want to play, select Display in Finder. When the track is displayed in Finder, double-click it".

This makes the file play presumably by reinforcing the link but it will need to be done for every music file and there are thousands. Anyone know how to do this in bulk?

What's up? Does Apple plan to provide an update for those of us who downloaded Sonoma 14.3.1?

I wish I had found this thread earlier. Somehow I got it working again, but my problem was:

Downloaded HLS Media files would not play. It would STREAM totally fine, but the moment I downloaded the lossless file, it would play for 0.1 sec and then not respond. I'm coming from an older 2015 iMac, and I've been moving stuff manually to a Mac Studio M2 Max.

Long story short, I didn't know what to do, so I... deleted the whole Apple Music folder. I thought, what's the harm, since everything can be re-downloaded anyway. But I forgot I had some older files that aren't part of the subscription service, and I don't know where the CD's or original files are. Thank goodness I'm an iTunes Match subscriber, so technically I can just re-download everything.

Still, it was really weird that the only files that would not play, were the ones that were previously downloaded locally. I wish I'd known about the security setting and adding Apple Music to it, maybe that would've fixed it.

Of all the solutions I've read here, the only one that seems to work so far is to open a song in finder and then double-click. I have thousands of songs - this will take forever. There must be another way!!!! Thanks Apple for nothing!!!!! If anyone has a suggestion I would be very grateful. My itunes app is on my Mac Desktop, and I'm now on Sonoma 14.4.1. Please bear in mind I am not a tech-minded person or good at IT jargon. I also keep getting error message -54 whatever that may be, something to do with the music library it appears.
