update version of Garage Band 10.4.11 doesn't open Garage Band any longer.

I recently installed AKAI Midi controller and started adding this to my DAW . After I record my first song using the mdid controller... garage band came out with an update and ever since I updated I can no longer open the app. So I am stuck with no access to my garage band projects.
