I have an Airport Extreme A1521 that I bought specifically to be able to control turning 5ghz on/off (as it is one of the few Airport devices that offers this functionality)
This Extreme has updates available but I'd like to confirm that the 5ghz on/off control is not removed with any of the latest updates.
Can anyone confirm that the ability to continue controlling 5ghz on/off remains even after updating to the latest version?

The ability to turn 5 GHz (and 2.4 GHz) on/off will not be affected by any update for the AirPort Extreme.
The "latest" update on the AirPort Extreme will install version 7.9.1 firmware on the device, which is primarily a security update for Wi-Fi.
The word "update" is a bit misleading though, since firmware 7.9.1 was released about 5 years ago.
