How do I connect my opted digital scanner to my iMac?

iMacs have been in continuous production since 1998 in a dizzying variety of variants. As no one here can see nor touch your computer, it behooves you to give as much model information as possible, including sub-model and what macOS version it is running. That gets more eyes on your question.

Is this a film scanner for slides/negatives? USB connection? Exact scanner name and model number? Any additional information about the manufacturer? Are compatible computers and operating system versions (Mac or Windows) mentioned on the box or in a user's guide?
