The home tab has disappeared on my books app. I can’t view my reading goals or daily reading time. I’ve shut down my phone but I don’t want to delete app because I’ll lose all of my downloads.

This appears to be widespread, sigh. FWIW, my wife and I each have iOS 17.5.1, iPhone 15 Plus. No issue with our iPads. Hope this gets straightened out soon and no loss to the Reading Goals time!
Same for me. It just disappeared yesterday. It's been mentioned on Reddit as well. It's only on my iphone, not the iPad. I opened the books app on my wife's phone, and the home tab was open, then "poof"...gone.
The home tab suddenly reappeared last night on both iPhones. Has there been any word as to what happened?
