Severe reliability issue of Apple iCloud: Randomly dissapeared files from iCloud folders

Many of the files from my iCloud just randomly disappeared, and empty directories and subdirectories remained. It is impossible I have randomly or accidentally deleted files in so many different directories and their subdirectories. I pay for the iCould storage and I'm far below the limit. I have called the Apple support and they directed me to make Data Recovery through icloud.com but this works only for the deleted files, not for the files that just disappeared from unknown reason. The Apple support could not provide any solution to the problem and they didn't give me any explanation why this happened and if it will happen again. Even I suggested to give them the names of some of the files that disappeared (I can find them in the list of recently opened files), but they couldn't do anything.

Despite paying for Apple iCloud service, the inexplicable loss of crucial files highlights a severe reliability issue, leaving users deeply frustrated and disappointed. I will never use iCloud again.

My suggestion is if you have anything in Documents or on the Desktop, is take it off iCloud and put it back on you computer and then shut iCloud down. I also suggest that if you don't have to share it across devices then putting in iCloud is just a waste of room on your space that your renting off Apple. Buy yourself a portable SSD, format it for APFS and use that for backups. That being said, reboot your computer and try again. Fire up iCloud. Drag one file at a time to the iCloud in Finder and hold the Command key down while doing so. Don't let iCloud move your files for you.
