iCloud Settings Across Multiple Devices

Hi there. I have a question about managing iCloud settings across multiple devices. Is it possible to turn off iCloud syncing on a Macbook from a different device, without removing iCloud photos & contacts from all of my iCloud devices?

I basically have an old device that I'm letting a friend use that's still connected to my iCloud (because she doesn't have a way to create her own), but I don't want all of my photos, contacts, notes and calendars to sync to the device she is using and vise versa.

Thanks in advance!
