Backup files download on Macbook

Hi guys! I just faced an issue regarding my WhatsApp backup on iCloud. Is there any way I can download the backup files of Whatsapp from iCloud into my MacBook?

Your help or guidance in this regard will be really important. Thanks

I'm not sure what you mean. "Backup" and "iCloud" aren't really the same. Since WhatsApp is not an Apple product, users here may not be able to help, but if it's really an iCloud issue, we may be able to. Is "WhatsApp backup" a single file?

If you have plenty of storage, then files that appear in iCloud Drive (Mobile Documents) are actually on your Mac, so it's unclear what you're asking. Copies are also kept at iCloud.com. So what happens if you download your file from iCloud.com?

Hi! The thing is my iCloud storage and iPhone storage got full. Some blogs say once the storage is full WhatsApp chats automatically are removed to clean up space.

Upon checking the backup of WhatsApp it shows 14 GB of backup but the chats are gone. So I had to uninstall and reinstall the WhatsApp app to restore my actual data but I forgot the end-to-end encryption password and now I can't access my old WhatsApp data either and can't reset the new password for the end-to-end encryption thing.

I am stuck between these issue thats why I was worried that in case I can download the backup files which are on my iCloud can be downloaded/exported into my MacBook for the safe side.

I hope this explanation helps you understand the issue.

I know WhatsApp is not an Apple Product. Also, I have asked the WhatsApp ppl regarding this issue they are pretty straight forward that you can't change the end-to-end encryption password. In short, you will lose the data.

That's why I just want to export the backup of WhatsApp which is on iCloud to my MacBook. I think it's a simple thing I am asking here.

Seems like you're getting frustrated, but there's no point in getting frustrated with me. I'm just a user like yourself who happens by here from time to time to try to help. It's not like I'm getting paid, and I don't have to listen to you at all. And you are certainly welcome to ignore anything I say.

How about this: go to iCloud.com and sign in. Right click on Drive, open in new tab, browse, and find your file. Download to where you want it.
