Can I use AirFly Pro with my iPod Classic?

I have an AirFly Pro bluetooth device and have tried to use it as a transmitter to an Anker bluetooth speaker when plugged in to my old classic iPod's 3.5mm audio jack. No success. Grateful for any help even if means that this pairing can't work. BMC

It might be easier if you follow the instructions that came with your AirFly Pro unit, since the issue appears to be one of the AirFly Pro talking to your Anker unit, rather than anything to do with the iPod. After all, the only connection between the iPod and the rest of the world is via the 3.5mm jack, which is effectively a dumb port.

The AirFly Pro instructions (I looked them up) mention that you should turn off Bluetooth on any other device that has been using the Anker unit (to avoid that device taking control of the Anker). It further suggests that the Anker unit should be put into Bluetooth pairing mode before turning on the AirFly and that you the turn on the AirFly Pro by specifically holding the power button down for four seconds so that the AirFly goes straight into pairing mode when you turn it on.

Thanks, good of you to post so quickly. I found a workaround by using an old iPhone 8 which I connected to iTunes and duplicated what is on the iPod and had a connection from the phone to the Anker in seconds. Tried the iPod again by using the Airfly in the same configuration but no success. I will try your other recommendations and hope for a result.
