Logic Pro Removed from MacBook Pro

I purchased a MacBook Pro a few years ago (intel i7, the last before m1 released). And when I purchased it I bought it in a bundle with Logic Pro X.

I recently updated to Logic Pro 11 but upon doing so, I checked back and the whole application had been uninstalled and any exist .logicx session files were converted into standard folders without access to the actual session file.

I checked the Mac App Store to see if it was still under my account however it’s now asking me to repurchase Logic.

I thought Logic included lifetime free updates so it seems like something went wrong.

any assistance would be appreciated. I’m a mix engineer and music producer for a living and now have lost access to some of the projects I was in the middle of.

There is something I don't understand.

After upgrading to Logic 11, you will find the updated app in your application folder with the standard name "Logic Pro.app".

Have you used a cloud-based service for storage of your Logic sessions? It's recommended to store and work with Logic sessions on a physical drive.

I've never heard of "lifetime free updates", however, the updates of Logic have been free since Logic 10 was introduced.

What bundle? Education bundle? Then you need to contact Apple Support to find out if you are still eligible for the package, as your are now working as a professional "mix engineer and music producer".

Logic disappeared from my computer without me doing anything. the last interaction I had with the app was clicking the update button. When I checked back it was gone and every single .logicx file I had become a standard folder with a handful of script type files and no session file to be found.

no I’ve never used cloud storage. I have 3 separate external hard drives I use for storage.

When I bought this Mac from the Apple website, there was an option to buy it with Logic Pro. Not for a discount. I paid full price for the software it just came pre installed when the laptop shipped.

Not sure what you’re not understanding. All I did was click update. Now the program is gone. It’s not in that folder either. And when I search logic on the App Store, it says I have to pay for it again if I want to download it.

Everyone else I’ve talked to who update from 10 to 11 didn’t have this problem.
