Does reading Apple News articles count towards your Apple Books reading minutes?

With Apple having a fantastic ecosystem I’m surprised there are still some examples where Apple’s own apps don’t ”speak” to each other.

Particularly, in this case, but as the title asks, as much as I’m aware, I can’t seem to connect all the time I spend reading lengthy news articles via Apple News to where it will increase my Apple Books reading minutes goal (currently set to 60min a day right now). Despite the articles not being a “book” one can’t help but argue that it is quite an investment in reading nonetheless, and should count towards “reading time”. On the plus side, being both apps developed by Apple I couldn’t imagine it’d be too hard to get them to speak to one another.

If there is a way they can sync please let me know, if not, how would I properly pass this suggestion up the food chain to the right folks at Apple?
