Text not showing up in Apple Motion

I am obviously a newbie, but have quite a bit of experience in final cut so the interface is not completely foreign to me, but I cannot figure out why this text layer is not showing but the one below it is. Here is a screenshot. What am I missing?

Mac Studio, macOS 14.5

So your example shows it to be in the -2px position which I assume is moving it from front to back. However when I adjust mine, it actually moves the position on the screen. It does appear, but as I move it downwards, it seems to hide behind something. I'm not seeing. I guess the 3-D space I'm not quite understanding as much as I thought I did.

This will be true by default - positive Z coordinates come “towards you” and negative away from you. Thus by default the lower value of Z the far back it goes.

But… when you a camera, it all depends on the position and orientation of the active camera. It is just like television: you can have a camera more to the side, and pointed at a different angle, and what the camera “sees” is what you see.

For example if you added a camera at 90 degrees, pointing from right to left, then positive Z would go to the left and negative Z to the right.

You could temporarily disable the camera (which essentially revets to default orientation). What do you see then?
