Entering emoji with an external keyboard is impossible on VisionPro

I find this situation pretty insane: if you are using an external keyboard, the software keyboard on vision pro (which supports emoji) does not appear. This has an interesting effect: when using an app that has no other mechanism for entering emoji, Apple's native iMessage(!) for example, you actually cannot enter emoji at all. What makes this even MORE crazy is that the keyboard I have has a *built-in key* for presenting an emoji entry menu (the one with a little globe icon) - and that doesn't work either.

I don't think this is a defect really, I'm pretty sure that there is just no way to enter emoji in apps like iMessage while you have an external keyboard connected - but I am totally stunned by this.

I like the Vision Pro (more than most customers I suspect), but it's things like this that make me wonder what the objective is. Like, this device is just not in a position to end-to-end handle any activity (I have to take out my phone to send a message if I want to use emoji!) - and a lot of the ways in which it fails to do that are SO obvious that I no longer really understand who the target audience is.
