iMac 2023: do I need to keep a 2016 iCloud Security Code?
I found an old code as above jotted down on paper. Do I need to keep it for any reason?

It may be a recovery key for your Apple ID or encryption key for the Mac hard drive, so yes.
Too late, all gone. But it was for iCloud, nothing else. And I have gone from a MBA to an iMac, and I didn't need it then. So hopefully not needed.
You can generate a new recovery key for your Apple ID account on any trusted device. Otherwise, you would need that one if you ever need to regain access to your Apple ID
