Trying to use my Apple Cinema Display with my new Mac Mini, can anyone help?

I just got a new Mac Mini, and the guy at the store assured me that my current monitor, an Apple Cinema Display, would work with it. Unfortunately I haven’t been able to get it to work, and I was wondering if anyone else has had any experience with this and maybe has some tips to share? Any help will be very much appreciated!

Which Cinema Display is this?

The 30” one that needs dual- link DVI input? One that needs Mini DisplayPort input? One that uses single-link DVI? (Hooefully not one that uses ADC.)

If it is a 27” one, have you verified that it is a LED Cinema Display (three heads on the “hydra” cable) and not a similar Thunderbolt Display (with a cable that has two heads)?
