Using 2 hands on iPad screen at once

I am an SLP who working with adults with autism who are non speaking and use their iPads to communicate. My client often holds her iPad in a grip that puts part of her hand on the screen. This then does not allow her to select anything on the screen with her free hand for communicating. Is there a setting that can allow her to hold the screen in one spot on the screen but still have the screen respond to a second touch by her other hand?

Am no expert in this area, yet your question surely deserves some response.

A couple of possibilities spring to mind:

(1) Is there a cover available that could be used on the iPad to allow for holding it with a better grip or to "self-support" the iPad?

Else:

(2) Wondering if you are familiar with the use of the iPad's Accessibility feature "Guided Access". Seems you can "Circle any areas of the screen you want to disable".

Thank you kindly for your reply, and added info. Your strap experiments may help find a solution.

The only "touch" settings that come to mind are in this article:

Adjust how iPad responds to your touch - Apple Support

Eg: says you can:

"Adjust settings for taps, swipes, and multiple touches":

and the article describes all the possibilities from:

"Settings > Accessibility > Touch > Touch Accommodations, then turn on Touch Accommodations".

Eg:

"Treat multiple touches as a single touch":

or

"Respond to the first or last place you touch":

Hi, Thank you. Guided access is my best friend haha. We can't predict where she is going to grab on the screen unfortunately. potentially a different case would help. We are trying using a strap for her to wear the device now and I am trying to encourage use of a hand strap on the back of her current case. Unfortunately, I have a feeling there are no settings changes that can be made to accommodate from what I have found so far.
