iPod classic not working correctly after transfering music to Windows 11 PC

when I connect my IPOD to my windows 11 PC, it shows F00 to F49 folders full of music. However, when it is disconnected from the PC it says "no music". Or anything else for that matter. I have saved all my music folder to my PC so I can play them great with itunes for windows, but my IPOD has been rendered useless. I suspect with all the fidgeting around I have done I have somehow removed a necessary file (or 2) from the IPOD. If I could know what files are shown on a working CLASSIC maybe it would help me find what I don't have. Absent that, is there a way to get them loaded on my IPOD? Such as 'restore to defaults'? I have spent days on this problem and I am at a loss. Thank you in advance.

The "Using the Community" forum is for questions about the communities themselves. You'll be more likely to get useful advice if you post in the forum specifically for your device, in this case the iPod forum:
