Documents in iCloud made me to format my Mac

I turned on Documents on iCloud by mistake on my intel MacBook Pro and after turning it off I could not stop getting them synced with my iCloud. Suddenly I had two folder Documents - iCloud. Documents - Local. Thankfully I can reverted it on my M3 Max MacBook Pro, but the Intel is so slow that it took hours and I don't know what was happening. I had to reformat and restore from Time Machine.

Please fix iCloud or don't ship this option at all. When "ON" does something -> "OFF" needs to revert it.

MacBook Pro 16″, macOS 14.6
