I am trying to update software on my MacBook (currently M2 Chip) and it will not recognize my password on the software update screen. It accepts that password everywhere else. I even tried changing the password, it does not accept the new password as well. I've checked my storage, even tried creating a new admin account, nothing seems to be working.
Apps downloaded & installed from the Apple App Store require your AppleID password.
Edit: Actually, they require the AppleID password of the account that was used to download & install the app from the App Store originally.
Mac won't recognise password only for software update.
