Mail not working on iPhone after iOS 18 Update

If you have a non-Apple email service that you access via Apple’s Mail app and that is not functioning correctly with that Apple app as it once did then I do strongly recommend that you contact THAT email service provider as well. I know that doing so can often be a relatively major time commitment but they *should* be able to be at least as helpful as Apple was for you if not moreso (no guarantees though, of course).

Is not only this. I am having issues with iCloud mail services too (yes - that is correct - apple icloud service mail and mail app : ). On Mac all folders being synced correctly, however on iphone some subfolders, mails are dissapearing - so there is a clear bug with mail app after IOS 18 upgrade.

Problem you mentioned with certs they had for ages and they never fixed (this was since 2011). After each setup I had to recreate mail accounts (imagine this doing for multiple business and family accounts - for every family member after every IOS upgrade). Is not funny Apple! Your support useless. Every time I am trying to explain this issue to tech guys I am being ignored or they admitting is a bug and telling me that not much can be done.

I’d suggest logging the details of this error with Apple or with Apple Support, including the errant folder names and the IMAP server identity and version, as IMAP is less than completely standard.

I have the same problem on iPhone 11 Pro iOS18. When I delete mail account and add again problem solved on 10 min. After 10 min. problem is back.

But on iPhone 13 Mini iOS18 works good.

I the past I would have tried to change everything imaginable to get this glitch to work but now I just wait ……………..

Version of TLS is certainly not an issue as SMTP part of Mail iOS app works fine for some reason regardless (TLS 1.0 used). The problem is clearly with IMAP.

apple ios18 has broken my ability to use Mail and seriously slowed down doing anything via Safari. Apple, are listening? We need you to fix this now.

The forward slash solution does not work for me. When will Apple fix this issue?

Seeing the same issue. My Outlook works fine on the PC, but suddenly stopped on my iPhone 14 after the IOS 18.0 upgrade. I'm surprised its taking this long for Apple to come out with a bug fix.

I upgraded a test device to 18.0.1, this shows the same issue, new mail is still not visible in the inbox.

Please stop spamming this, we all know you are hired to say this over and over again, you are not helping this thread in any way…

This is unbelievable. emails not working on extremely expensive iOS devices.

I’d get the server to TLSv1.2 and with forward security configured minimally, and test again.

IMAP (read, receive) and ESMTP (send) are separate network services, so check both.

There are various ways to check the TLS and cipher offers by a server, and curl and testssl among those,:

Also check the IMAP and ESMTP server logs for any failure-relevant details that might be included there.
