Mail not working on iPhone after iOS 18 Update

Ios18 email fix. I finally found a fix to the email issue on Apple iPhone after downloading ios18. Go into settings and enable your email accounts. Mail is under apps now. Turn off your von. Turn airplane mode on and then off. It fixed for me.

Hi all, I Just check my Emails Securityfile Mail on iPhone 11 Mail/app IOS18 and it's no errors but it won't synchronize all my folders and emails. so yeah it is bug, don't panics hold your buts tight, they will fix it.

Thank you for your sharing information. I am also very confused by this issue. On some devices, recreating the account resolved the problem, but on others, even after recreating the account, the issue persists. Additionally, there are devices that can connect to Gmail, while others cannot.

I’ve deleted and reinstalled once, with no improvement. I don’t fancy doing it again and again: I’ve just made Outlook my default mail app. It’s vastly superior and works with both my Yahoo and Gmail accounts. Bye bye, iOS Mail!

My issue with a little different. Since the upgrade I was getting a “connect , just updated” message constantly but was not able to get any new emails. I began deleting each email app and reinstalling it. Until I hit the Gmail app. After reinstalling it, all issues got resolved.

I have this exact issue and adding a forward slash (/) does nothing. This is a bug, as Polkamatic stated, and I want to know when this will be fixed.

My biggest issue is that it only happens with one of my Gmail accounts. I don't even know how that is possible.

The issue is still there.

Afterwards I rolled back to ios 18 as I found some more things that I did not like.

But who knows, maybe in the public release they will have this solved but I already gave up on hoping....

You are lucky. I have contacted my mail provider and they cannot help much. Moreover they do not really understand why from the two mail accounts I have with them, only one has problems. The other one is functioning correctly. I will try to contact Apple by phone and I will post here their ‘advice’.

I am not happy at all! I have purchased every iPhone since its birth. I have an IPad Pro and a a MacBook Pro. This issue with IOS 18 turned my work imap email on my iPhone and iPad in to bricks. I tried all of the proposed fixes in this thread! Come on Apple this is the best you can do in new software deployment? You should be ashamed! I am waiting for the fix! My imap email on both can send emails and I get green check marks on all systems go but can get my inbound emails! Really unhappy and frustrated

Emails cannot be retrieved after iOS update 18 and Apple sent iOS 18.1 and now I can send or retrieve. Absolute garbage!!! I can only use email when connected to wifi. I’m on the road 90% if the time. Furious!

Are you sure you didn't already have a forward slash there? In my case, the gray forward slash isn't an editable character. You can't type next to it. When you insert a new slash, it just replaces the gray one.

Hello, somehow, self-signed certificates don't work anymore (even though they could be trusted before and most likely adhere to the requirements).

I was able to provide MDM payload with a Step-CA root certificate, its intermediate certificate and the signed certificate of the mailserver - it seems to be important that the chain of trust be completely working, including working DNS and alt name of the host. With iOS18.0.1, i have my mail back working.

If there are other bugs (like Prefixes on IMAP paths) i don't know, but i did not experience them and by looking in the SMTP/IMAP server logs, i was confirmed enough that TLS did not work.

Correct. The problems were created with very much tightened email security measures (need for which was prompted by nefarious international hackers) unevenly implemented across programmers and service providers. I’m sure they are still working their way through the necessary fixes but it is best for everyone notify their own relevant providers/companies.

This is driving me nuts. Bug is still there in 8.1b6. I submitted feedback on Apple’s main feedback page. I also shared feedback on Apple’s feedback app on the 18.1b6 device. This is beyond infuriating
