Nope, there is no supported way to go back to iOS 17. For specific changes for such things as Control Center, it is now completely customizable, If you have not used any of the new features to customize the look, you should start here:

Photos app is also now completely customizable. In addition to changing the size of the thumbnails on your screen, you can also review the steps here to customize it along with additional information on viewing your photos. If you do not like the Photos app, there are many other options available in the App Store, so the choice is yours there which one would meet your needs.

You now see bigger emojis because users had previously complained they were too small and send feedback to Apple. You can do the same and maybe they can make the size adjustable. In any case, Apple won't see your post here, so the place to do that is with this link:

Product Feedback - Apple

You can expect a change in iOS every year as that has been the standard upgrade schedule. If Apple never made changes that added new features to iOS, users would complain that Apple is not being innovative, and when changes are made, then users complain they didn't want any changes. We saw the same complaints when for years there were no changes to the Calculator app as users demanded more features. It really is a no win in either case, and would recommend that if you don't want to see any changes, then make sure to not update when you see the new version available.

Same as mine exactly same issues but we cant downgrade they told me in Apple support to go take my iPhone to servise but its time for a new one i think it cost money for servise the iPhone more than new one lol like few ppl told me here its probably that i changed battery ,capacity of IPhone, and older model but again its been working normally till i install latest version then everything messed up in it..Same like urs in camera 1x 2x zoom cant zoom it with fingers like bef ,AirPods animation vanished ,back cam wount work sometimes and sometimes it does, flashlight same thing two days ago it was working now again not,and i think its not just bec its bit older model (XS MAX) its because of battery i think, capacity ,older model and i nožice when i charge him till 100% flashlight is working but AirPods animation wount and i tried to do it reset them the go in forget device and connect again(but nothing changed) and camera is buginn’ me the most well we have similiar issues but we cant downgrade u can only take it to servise like i was told in support or buy a new one same like they told me…..

Some people just don't like change and there was a famous book about it by Dr Spencer Johnson called "Who Moved My Cheese". For those that don't like changes, I recommend to turn off Automatic Updates and don't install any new version that comes along. There have not been any widespread problems reported with iOS 18 although of course it is going to look different as there have been many features added. Most appreciate having new features on a device and not having to pay for them with the software update. Once you update, you cannot go back, so it is best not to update in the first place if you do not want these new features.

OK, you have got plenty to work with in the posts here:

  • Remove Facebook, WhatsApp, Instagram and test without those apps
  • Factory Reset using a computer
  • Send Feedback to Apple
  • Take to Apple for diagnostics

Users have found success with both the first and second option. Viewing apps consuming the resources at Settings > Battery has been useful for some to identify problem apps.

Photo library is beyond annoying with this update. Sure hope Apple pays attention to these complaints and does something about it sooner than later. And please stop with all the auto suggestions in the photos... I don't need your suggestions anywhere because I can actually think for myself. I go to search for something that I am specifically searching for and Apple is too busy making suggestions of what I should do and taking up screen space. Why can't tech people ever just leave well enough alone.....

Apple does not read your post here, or anyone else's and relies on the Feedback link to review information that has been provided to them along with new features that users would like to see. You can use the feedback here:

It is really a no win situation that everyone would be satisfied with. If no changes were made then there would be complaints that Apple is not being innovative. There was even long standing complaints from users that the Calculator app had not been updated in years. When changes are made, then users complain that they did not want anything to change. If Apple included everything with previous versions along with the features in the new version to make both camps happy, then the storage size on users devices would double and there would be complaints about that.

Yeah this new IOS update is… no bueno. The photo app is now incredibly frustrating, my emojis are WAYYY too big (and I keep accidentally going to the Memoji section when I’m looking for just a NORMAL emoji), the password app feels excessive and unnecessary, and my control center is completely disorienting. I simply don’t understand why there are four different sections to swipe through when it used to all be on one section that was incredibly easy to navigate. I tried to downgrade my phone but every single resource I looked at stated that external software must be downloaded to remove an update. I just want my old phone back. This update highly discourages me from using my phone more than what is truly necessary. Please fix this Apple! I would love to have IOS 17 back, it was a perfect version.
