Microphone confusion when Mac Studio is connected to MacBook Pro

I use Mac Studio monitor as my monitor and connect it to MacBook Pro. When I am in a Teams meeting, people complain that there is echo. Then I plug in EarPods and the problems get solved. My guess is that when I am not using EarPods, two microphones are active: one from MacBook and one from Mac Studio. So since two microphones receive voice, it creates an echo. I would have expected that when Max Studio is connected to MacBook, one of the microphones should switch off (logical is that microphone of MacBook is switched off). But apparently Apple did not think about this. So what is the solution? I should add that I use Teams under Parallels. So maybe Parallels does not understand that Mac Studio is connected to MacBook.

OK, it took me a second to figure out what you're talking about. This forum is for the Mac Studio, the model of Mac. It would seem that you're actually referring to an Apple Studio Display. Please confirm so people know what is actually going on so they can make appropriate suggestions.

But this may be an issue with Windows under Parallels not correctly setting the audio input. The developers of Parallels might have some suggestions.

Certainly odd. I wonder it it's picking up the iPhone? If you habitually keep your iPhone near when you're on Teams or other video conference, you might try putting the iPhone well out of listening distance, just as a thing to try.

Otherwise, I'm at a bit of a loss what else to suggest since I don't have a Studio DIsplay to test. Perhaps someone else here will chime in.

Regards.
