Does iPhone Mirroring allow calling from your Mac?

I’ve upgraded to latest programs on my Mac and iPhone. Sure enough the mirrored image of my iPhone shows up on my Mac, and I can manipulate the apps on it. But, it won’t allow me to make a phone call from the mirrored image on my Mac. Is that the way it is with the mirrored image on my Mac, or am I doing something wrong?

if that’s all it does, that’s kind of disappointing since I can do most of the same things directly from my Mac as those on my iPhone.

MacBook Pro 14″, macOS 15.0

Make and receive phone calls on Mac or iPad - Apple Support

"With the iPhone Cellular Calls feature, you can make and receive phone calls from your Mac or iPad when those devices are on the same network as your iPhone."

This is a separate feature from iPhone Mirroring.

It wasn’t all successes; he had flops also; the Lisa and the Newton (I still have one) are two examples. But overall he led the industry, making things for people that they didn’t know they needed until they had them.

He had flops but, did he ever acknowledge them?

I read a story once that Woz had to talk him into including a keyboard with the original Mac because he was so enamored of the mouse that he didn't think it would be necessary. He also refused to consider any kind of stylus for the iPad.

But the Newton is a bit more complicated. It wasn't his device. It was Sculley's baby. I'm still not clear if Jobs axed it because it wasn't his own idea or for some other reason. I also don't think it was necessarily a flop. I think it was released at an unfortunate time in Apple's history and it was never given the chance to become great. I still have two, as well.

I love Apple, and the tools they provide. But this, that I can’t use my phone in mirror mode, is unacceptable. That’s the whole point. It’s what I thought iOS brought to the table. Lame, Apple. That along with you “Export to iOS” from GarageBand, that doesn’t work even though the GarageBand menu has it as a specific selection? I pay a premium for Apple, and am glad to, in order to avoid this kind of bs.

I’m not sure what the problem is. I make and receive phone calls on my Mac all the time, without iPhone mirroring.
