Apple Music issues after iOS 18 Update

Has anyone experienced issues with Apple Music in iOS 18? For example, audio quality lowered despite Dolby Atmos and EQ off? Or trying to scroll through your playlist and the app crashes?

Me. So thankful to find someone else with this issue. My Apple Music has been almost unusable since the upgrade to iOS 18. Crashes when scrolling a playlist, crashes when trying to remove songs from a playlist. Won’t let me edit larger playlist. Also freezes a lot, is super slow, and the audio quality has decreased. I have been on basically a 4 day phone call with a Apple Senior Adviser about this and they can’t figure it out, plus they say nobody else besides me has reported to them issues with Apple Music on iOS 18. Which is hard for me to believe. The tech is calling me back tomorrow with what his bosses said about the screen recordings i sent them showing my issues. I’ve done every troubleshooting step they can think of except reinstalling iOS 18. I hope they can figure it out cause it’s annoying me to no end not being able to use my music.

I’m sorry you’re having to get call backs each time with no real solution to the problem! I actually have a case open from a previous issue from the update where songs were duplicated and I deleted the wrong file. Naturally, I have to add the songs back to my library since they weren’t the correct file to delete. However, I have also reported the issue we were talking about with video of the issue. Hopefully that will also help in potentially getting a quicker update from them. I appreciate you taking the time to talk about all of this! Hopefully they will have a better answer on Tuesday!

I went to the Apple Store for something unrelated yesterday. I was talking to one of support staff about this issue. He said he was having similar issues to the rest of us. He also said he was now on the beta version and he hasn’t noticed any issues. I’ve never downloaded a beta version, but am contemplating it.

I’m so sorry you’re having to go through all of this.. they should have caught the issue and stayed on the phone to ensure the recordings went through since there’s going to be claims no one is reporting the issue. My advisor never called back so I can only assume they the recordings I gave was enough for them to look into it. Hoping this issue is resolved very soon.

18 wronked up my music database on PC and iPhone. Had a buncha songs poof away. Not whole album, just some of the songs on an album. Unable to get them back by syncing, had to use a squirrelly workaround. But that wasn’t practical for the gobs of missing songs. Ended up deleting the entire iTunes music folder on my PC and starting over. Spent a whole day on this, it’s mostly ok now, a few glitches left.

this should never have made it out the door. Someone needs a different job.

I’m sorry I updated to iOS 18. I only updated because my AirPods 4 wouldn’t show up in “Find My” until I updated all my devices.

After the iOS 18 update, I’m having issues with Apple Music: songs fade out halfway through or they stutter; I cannot update playlists and the app freezes. It is very frustrating. I understand there are problems when there’s an update, but Apple has received enough complaints to do something to fix the problems they created.
