iPhone 16 Pro Max keyboard issues

Typing on the 16 pro max is so frustrating that im thinking about returning my phone and going back to using my phone from 2021.

i dont have the time to correct or wait for the slow lagging delays.

heres a sentence tiy can tell shoukd be clearly corrected and even ghe “i” should be I

I just got the 16 Pro Max on Monday and am having the same issues with my keyboard. I don’t remember having this many issues ever texting on an iOS device as I have with this new phone. I have to proofread everything to make sure that I didn’t miss a letter somewhere

Just got my new iPhone 16 pro max yesterday and what I have noticed is when texting the keyboard will pull up all the options for the letter as if I was still pushing on it. And I have removed my finger from keyboard. Seems to be just when texting and no other times. Has not done it once while writing this.

Hello! I have a problem with the sensitivity of the sensor on 16 pro max. doesn't always work. especially in the area on the right. It's awkward to type. 18.0.1 did not correct the situation. Is this a problem with the update or can I return the phone to the store?

I’m blown away by this. The keyboard functionality is awful. I loved the smoothness of the 14 pro max. This is like 5 steps backwards. It’s truly aggravating. I hope this is a software issue that they can fix cuz this is painful.

I would like my 13 pro max back please. It’s been only a few hours of me trying out my 16 pro max and I’m trying to like it but is terrible to type. Kinda hurts my hand actually lol even though it’s not funny. There’s just too many issues at hand and as a paying apple customer.. please fix this issue fast.

i found that typing on iPhone 16 pro max is really frustrating. I keep on missing the spacebar and the delete key. I just keep on making a mistake and making words string. I also type very fast and this new iPhone 16 pro max makes it really frustrating to type on. SPACEBAR and BACKSPACE are really annoying.

i do a lot of typing on iPhone i just can’t seem to get over the fact that it seems I’m downgrading than upgrading from my previous iPhone.

i hope there will be updates to fix this

Hi Ashmin7! Thank you for the advice. I have noticed some improvement with the typing. Still having issues with spacebar and backspace though. I think it might also be placebo? I don’t know but i did just that, your advice and it seems to have somewhat worked.

hoping that Apple will address this issue as it is really annoying and affecting a lot of the iPhone users who use their phones most of the time in typing and composing emails and text messages.

Yes I’m having the same issues here! At first I checked all the keyboard settings, still no improvement bcs I thought maybe it’s new iPhone and there are some changes with settings and nope!

My keyboard can’t keep up with how fast I am typing, lack of responsiveness (compare to my iphone 12 pro max) and I have to double tap more often to respond in the whole screen.

And today my first time I have my iPhone 16 pro max screen showed flickering with vertical rainbow stripes flash after I sent text and wanted to type again. I know and feel that there is definitely a problem with iPhone 16 pro max. Not as I expected as like new iPhone. I’m very disappointed. ☹️

I have this issue with the 16 pro max keyboard. When I try to type, it freezes, misses letters, takes long to respond. It’s been almost a month and it’s still a problem. Are you currently working on this?

The 18.0.1 update did not fix issues with unresponsiveness in the screen. Typing is horrendous. I have to click the screen harder/twice in order for the screen to respond. Even typing this out is a chore. I spent so much on this phone just to dread using it, and wishing I had my two year old phone back. Please, please fix this issue.

I have the same issues. I’ve done some of the adjustments other people on this thread have suggested & it hasn’t helped much. I find myself talking into the phone if I have to send long messages. Making sure all of my friends know this issue before they purchase it & have the same problem I do.

I've had this keyboard issue since day 1. I heard the recent update was going to fix this issue, but if anything it made it just a little bit worse for me. I wanted to chime in here, so we get a quicker fix!

Me and my wife are having the same issue. The keyboard is annoyingly slow and also misses to type certain letters viz. 'i', 'o', 'space' etc. Not sure if we should return the phone and go back to iPhone 13 PM. That was so much better. My wife is also having issue navigating the apps. The back button or go to previous button is not working.
