two issues with my iPhone 16 pro max IOS 18:
1) keyboard lacks of responsiveness, oftentimes I have to double click when typing or It misses letters.
2) when searching for apps or contacts and using the swipe down function if starting a word with the letter «s», the search immediately disappears and spotlight shuts down.
what to do? Do I have a faulty device or is this an OS issue?

iphone 16 pro max lack of responsiveness. So hard to create long messages. You have double click letters for it to respond.

The keyboard is still terrible.
I reset my phone, and it was moderately better.

I’m having the same problem but changed the keyboard thing on settings and seems to be a little better.
I do have the same regret actually.
I just returned mine because it was driving me crazy.
I’m gonna try out a 15 pro max instead.
Same issue here but then again there’s always issues with there new phones hopefully there’s a update that can fix the issue
I’ve been through 2 screen protectors. Employee at Best Buy claims it isn’t the protector but instead a software issue with the new iPhone/iOS 18.
