Studio Mac M2 doesn't recognize my Nikon scanner

My Nikon Coolscan 4000 worked fine with my iMac 27" using all the right adaptors and VueScan. It doesn't work when I connected it to my new Studio Mac M2. The scanner shows up as "unknown device" on my systems firewire line and add scanner or VueScan scanner selection does't see it. How can I get this to work as it did with my iMac?

Mac Studio, macOS 15.0

I have ViewScan 9.8.36. I wrote to them and they said if the Nikon scanner shows up on the Firewire systems setting report VueScan it could run the scanner. The problem is the scanner shows up as "unknown device" and therefore it doesn't show as an option as my flat bed scanner does in VueScan. Going to "add scanner" in system setting also doesn't locate "unknown device" .

Hi… this might help you a little bit : https://www.reddit.com/r/Nikon/comments/1fk5sy4/for_the_mac_users_out_there_that_have_upgraded_to/?rdt=3712

says it works with Sequoia ( Mac OS 15) And your Nikon Coolscan 4000 as well as other Nikon scanners… I don’t own one of ‘em or have a Mac with sequoia so can’t say if it’ll work for sure or not
