I contacted Apple Support. After going through the usual steps (reinstalling macOS, resetting NVRAM/PRAM, SMC etc.), they assumed a hardware issue. I think this is quite unlikely and the checks will result in significant costs, as my 2019 MBP is no longer under warranty.
So for me the best solution is to disable standby. An other user had a similar issue with an Intel Mac: https://hexacera.com/posts/oclp-sonoma-sleep-wake-failure
You can check current System Wide Power Settings via Terminal:
pmset -g
To disable standby I used:
sudo pmset -a standby 0
Apple Care told me they won't help until I upgrade to Sequoia. Sigh.
- WiFi is never on, my 2019 16" mbpro is wired only.
- My mbpro is connected to TWO external monitors, a 24 LG Ultragear and a 32" LG HDR 4k

By chance is this only happening on 16" Intel macbooks?
Has anyone found a solution? I've been running Sequoia fine but since about a week ago I've been restarting during sleep with the same error on restart. Upgrading to 15.2 didn't solve the issue either. I haven't installed any new software or added any new hardware before it started happening.
Same panic(cpu 0 caller 0xfffffff0167732cc): Sleep/Wake hang detected @IOPMrootDomain.cpp:12946 on my Macbook i9 after upgrading to Sequoia. It has 15.4.1 (24E263) version now and problem still persist.
I bought the Sleep Aid program, but it hasn't helped me find what the cause is yet.
An update: The laptop was connected to LG Ultrfine 24" display all the time.

Just happened to me too, but I'm on Sonoma (14.7) and an old Intel Macbook (16" from 2019). I also had LG Ultrafine 24" connected in the clamshell mode.

I've never had, and don't have bootcamp, but I have Parallels installed. Maybe bootcamp and Parallels have something in common?

I have been having the same problem. I have an Air, i5, 2020 and this problem just started a few weeks ago. I haven't changed anything for years. I am running a Dell monitor as well.
