Camera app crashing on my iPhone 16 Pro Max

Camera app crashing is very very annoying, This is not the apple I know.

I have never used any other mobiles other than Iphone, @Apple please fix this as this is affecting my work and I am in entertainment industry.

I’ve had 2 iPhone 16 pros with same issue now. Decided after 5 weeks of issues to keep my iPhone 14. At least it works!

interested to hear more on the MagSafe cases as I had a non genuine one on mine.

Feeling very disappointed, apple told me it’s not a known issue.

I agree and after having the phone for over a month I’m really fed up that I have to keep restarting my phone just to take one photo for it to crash again. Taking everything off to start again is not an option. APPLE THIS NEEDS FIXING OR IM SENDING IT BACK UNTIL THIS PHONE IS FIT FOR PURPOSE!

Same thing is happening got the 16 pro and it was terrible , exchanged for 16 pro max and came the same what a terrible company apple has become . I m still paying this phone , trying to connect with apple but my phone keeps crashing .

I’m experiencing this too - particularly while attempting to edit any pics or vids or load pics into albums.

also experiencing crashing on Apple Music and v slow safari response and crashing too.

Updated to 18.1 on 1TB 16 Pro Max. Camera is still crashing. Very specifically when recording video zoomed all the way out - It will record for about 5 minutes and hang and end the video without user input. From that point forward it can't record any videos longer than about 1 minute in length before it hangs and the video ends.

If anyone opted to wipe their phone and NOT restore from backup, you may notice reminder notifications aren't working. I'd set a reminder on my phone ("Hey siri, remind me to do this thing in an hour") and never get a notification. To remedy, open the reminders app, manually create a reminder. At some point through that process you should get the popup alert "do you want to allow reminders to send notifications". Click the Allow button.

For some reason, the ability to turn on reminders in settings>apps>reminders was missing until I completed the steps above.

This only applies if you setup your phone WITHOUT using your iCloud backup and opted to Setup as New Phone/Device.

my issue isn’t isolated to opening the camera app from the Lock Screen it happens even when opening the app from the Home Screen.

I’ve closed my apps, disabled all preserve camera settings options, and a restart only fixes it temporarily.

my phone gets abnormally hot when it’s in my pocket while listening to audible through my AirPods. When I check to see if I accidentally had something open or the camera open there’s nothing that would typically cause my phone to get hot.

I used the camera button to launch the camera and it crashed as I stepped into a flight. Phone would not respond to any reset button combinations and got hotter and hotter on the flight. I had to wait for the battery to die and was stranded at the other end with no miners or money 😅 now I’m seeing so many performance issues like typing taking ages to happen etc.

iOS 18.2 is not solving this problem

Photo app not responding or black screen or even whole system is frozing when locked ….

That’s not cool my iphone 13 P M was more efficient for photos 🙃
