Is there a way to revert just the Calculator App back to the iOS 17 version?

When I access the calculator app, it is now in 2 sections. The upper section has the square roots, trig signs, squared, etc. The lower section has what it used to look like, making the plain calculation area much smaller.

I had noticed what others were complaining about with the string of operations, but the appearance is so different without even making any calculations. I just really need the simple calls!

Is there something I did to cause it to appear this way, OR is this part of the new IOS update?

I can send a screen shot if necessary.

I agree the new Calculator is totally annoying. I'm starting to go back to the old calculators I used 10 years ago. I wish there was an option provided by Apple to revert to the previous Calculator style.

How do you get the old Calculator back ? Because the new calculator is no good to use? I can’t do my work with it no more due to the rubbish of the calculator if anyone knows can you please tell me thank you.

I thought I was losing my mind! Like I didn't remember how the BASIC calculator works!! What the **** Apple???

It's impossible to retrain muscle memory! Especially when you learned how to use a ten key when you were a kid.

Please fix this - or give us an option! For the money we pay for these computers the most BASIC function should not be changed.

I'm not going to go pay for an APP to fix this.

Of course it's not impossible to retrain muscle memory. It just requires intention. Slow down to the point where you can pay attention to what you're doing, and you don't make mistakes. It should only take a few days of this before you begin to get used to things.

This process is made much easier if you let go of any anger you have about things. Anger makes you tense. You make more mistakes.

No, not defending Apple, just fighting against misinformation and the people who think their preferences are the only ones that matter.

I totally agree. When I’m adding up lots of figures it’s too hard to get a running total along the way. Just revert back to the basic more simplified version please.

If you must keep this version, as you state people had requested it, then at least give the majority of people who dislike its functionality immensely, the option of choosing which version they would like to keep.

That way everyone is happy.

Why do you think the majority of people dislike it immensely; The majority of people either like it or don’t care, but in either case people in that category don’t post and say “I love the functionality!"

And, as the change was requested by an apparently very large number of users, the majority has gotten what they wanted.

I detest the new calculator in iOS18. Apple, please change this back to where I can enter a whole series of numbers to be added or subtracted and see the result (= !!!) as I proceed, or I can’t tell if everything looks correct. This was a huge mistake. UGH!! I had to download another calculator App and remove the Apple one. 😡🤬Grrr!!

Yeah, I miss the old calculator. Trying to find a the download for ioS 17.7.2 just for the calculator, buy an old iphone for it. The swipe and all that. I don't even know why they just don't give us an OG app and put it in the store and charge for it. So simple. The amount of threads on this forum and reddit and facebook alone says it all. I'm done.

Ugh…. I HATE this new calculator version!! Should have known better than to do an update.

I hate the new calculator. I can no longer add a % to a number and see what that additional amount is. I need to then minus the new total from the existing. SO ANNOYING APPLE!!!!!

Unfortunately when you go via the product feedback, apple don't allow you to complain about the Calculator app! Almost like they know hahah

Please. How do I get my calculator back to normal?!
