updated to sequoia 15.0. Now safari 18.0 wont respond

This weekend i updated all of my equipment (phone, iPad and watch). all are working fine except MacBook Pro. i updated to Sequoia 15.0. Safari 18.0 shows my bookmarks, but clicking on them does nothing. If i type in a search, it will take me to an email, but I can’t use safari to access websites at all. I've switched to duck duck go and it works ok but can't access certain websites (WSJ puzzles for example).

Please help!!!
