Getting electric shocked when charging iPhone 16

Yes, I was experiencing electric shocks from the camera button and body initially just tingling, but it eventually became quite unsafe. I tried changing chargers, wires, and accessories, but nothing worked. The real issue turned out to be improper grounding (earthing) in my home. Once an electrician checked and fixed the earthing and electrical lines, the shocks stopped completely.

I highly recommend getting your home’s grounding checked if you’re facing similar issues. It might not seem serious at first, but poor grounding can damage your devices over time. Better to be safe and address it early.

First just try charging in a different outlet. If that doesn’t resolve the issue, try replacing the charger, then cable. You can try touching something before touching the iPhone to discharge static electricity. Lastly contact Apple Support.

You can check by plugging your iPhone into your car charger or a portable battery pack. If you don’t feel the tingling, it’s not the iPhone.

I visited both Abu Dhabi stores, Yas Mall and Galleria Mall. I followed the following steps, I think the issue is not producing now:

1 - Use Apple's original adapter which is 20W

2 - Change the socket

I touched the camera button with bare feet but the issue was not there.:)

Someone needs to check and see if there is current on your ground in the socket or house. When you’re feeling current on a metal case that’s a strong indication of a problem in the circuit and not the device.

It could be any of the following:

Report to Apple Support from your IPhone 16 and they will contact you immediately.

I followed the following, and I solved it:

1 - I started using the Original Apple Adapter.

2 - I changed the socket

Someone needs to check and see if there is current on your ground in the socket or house. When you’re feeling current on a metal case that’s a strong indication of a problem in the circuit and not the device.

Discontinue charging the device immediately. Are you using the cable that came with your iPhone? Are you using an Apple wall charger or a third party product? When did you purchase the iPhone and did you purchase it from Apple or a third party vendor?
