Yes, I was experiencing electric shocks from the camera button and body initially just tingling, but it eventually became quite unsafe. I tried changing chargers, wires, and accessories, but nothing worked. The real issue turned out to be improper grounding (earthing) in my home. Once an electrician checked and fixed the earthing and electrical lines, the shocks stopped completely.
I highly recommend getting your home’s grounding checked if you’re facing similar issues. It might not seem serious at first, but poor grounding can damage your devices over time. Better to be safe and address it early.

Im getting electric shock from camera control button while charging with apple charger but after I tried charging with samsung adapter then no electric shock was there!
Probably the outlet, like the poster above, in this thread. But until confirmed, discontinue use of charger and cable.
The socket has current on the ground. The wiring in the location is defective, not your iPhone.
Hi all, I’m also facing the same issues while charging my mobile getting a shock in the new feature camera button. Please check your adapter, I think everyone has it an Indian-manufactured product, I have replaced my adapter manufactured in China. Now I didn’t face any issues :)
This has started happening to me as well. We've had some very low humidity days recently here in Southern California (10% humidity or so) and the shocks started about the same time. Camera control button even using the Apple silicone case and this happens.
I’m still waiting for my I phone 16 pro max to come in for repairs that Apple Store took from me and it’s been 10 days since they told me I’ll have it back in 5 days lol yes I kept getting shocked from the camera botton on the right side it has a year warranty, but I’m still hoping they have fix this issue . They gave me a loaner phone till I get mine back
I have tried couple of things. My iphone is cured, I think .
1 - use the low voltage charger like 15-20
2 - Use an adapter without earthing point.
Sounds like an issue with the ground where you’re plugging in the charger. Current shouldn’t be on the ground/earthing point.
I am facing the same issue as well it has not even been a month since I bought IPhone 16 and for the past few weeks while charging my phone on the action button I could feel electric shock it happens only for few seconds at times and when checked with the tester it shows positive for current flow in the action button
My camera was shocking me when it was charging, so I unplugged it and it seemed to have stopped. Clearly I was wrong because I just picked my phone up (not charging) and it left a burning/tingling sensation on my hand along with these two welts.
I just purchased IPhone 16 Pro max 1 TB (Japanese Version) and getting sever electric shock through camera button. I purchased new UGreen adapter but in vain. I have an appointment on 2nd January 2025 with Apple Store, YAS Mall, Abu Dhabi, UAE. Let's see as they were unaware of this issue. :(
They took all the pictures and called me very next day that it's not hazardous so better to go local support center to reproduce the issue. Let's see on Saturday which is tomorrow. Although it is not hazardous but no one can hold the phone so the standard of being hazardous for apple might be different. But for me it's NOT acceptable.
For me, I can only feel the shock when I put my lip on it, but when my fingers on it, it does not sense the shock. I think it’s minor because my hand does not feel it even though it’s a brand-new phone I don’t want to risk anything.
Yes me too and took my phone to apple to fix , and all they did was change the board inside , and I’m still getting electrical shock this phone has a problem they can’t fix and don’t know why I paid $1500 for this

I just bought an iPhone 16 plus together with a 3rd party magsafecases, then I went home and used the phone for 30 mins just to setup everything then when I charged it with the case I suddenly feel a static electric shock on the camera button and I was really shock, I was like is this normal? I was thinking now if the cause of electric shock is due to the case since it’s magsafe or my phone have a defect.
