Apple Mail is not working on my Mac or phone

Apple Mail is not working on my Mac and my phone. On the Mac, it says my MSN server is offline. When I click the lightning bolt, a popup box appears, wanting a password for my email address. I tried changing my password, but nothing worked. When I open Mail on my phone, I can see it updated, but new mail is not added. I push Details and get a message saying ''cannot connect to the server for Bruce Mail''. I have the option to Repair, but then I get ''The Mail server ''map-mail.outlook.com'' is not responding. Verify that you have entered the correct account info in the mail setting. I go to settings and Mail but do not see anything wrong.
