Safari 18- I Still can no longer tear off a URL from the address bar and drag it to my desktop.
I still have this problem. I have to quit Safari and then it works, but only for a while.

Same here on Safari Version 18.0.1 (19619.1.26.111.11, 19619), macOS 14.7.
I think they messed up the address bar in Safari 18.0. (with no fix in 18.0.1)
It’s still working in the latest Safari Technology Preview Release 205 (Safari 18.0, WebKit 19621.1.2.111.4)
I really hope it gets a fix in Safari 18.1.
