"To cast, give Chrome access in system settings." -- which system settings?

Hi.

In order to enable casting I have granted Google Chrome two permissions in system settings:

• Local Network
• Screen & System Audio recording

Option to cast was enabled after restarting Google Chrome.

same issue, tried everything - nothing works. happy for chrome canary that's not updated to the latest version, can still cast with that although the local network access permission screen appears every time the browser is restarted (plus 6 items from canary under local network permissions in system settings). frustrating.

I uninstalled chrome completely from my MacBook Pro 2020 with M1, including web pages that I turned into web apps. Then reinstalled from safari. After starting chrome it asked for permissions, I granted for Local Network and for recording screen and audio, then restarted chrome. Everything works fine now and I am able to cast.

Uninstall Chrome and then reinstall it. It fixed the casting access issue for me. Drag Chrome to the trash on a mac and then empty the trash. Open a different browser and reinstall Chrome. Cast tab works again on Sequoia.

I am using Sequoia, too, and am having the same issue. I haver deleted and reinstalled Google Chrome, but still receive the vague dialogue box.

Same for me - I have deleted and reinstalled Chrome (after upgrading to Sequoia) but still can't use Chromecast. I have followed all the advice on this page, but it still doesn't work. Advice please!

Was having the same issue but found a fix that worked for me.

I randomly started having the issue but only a few weeks after upgrading to Sequoia (so not sure if that is the problem). My wife has the same computer and hasn't updated and doesn't have this problem.

Anyway, I tried to use Time Machine to go back to an earlier save point (pre-Sequoia) and needed to use Migration Assistant. I must have done something wrong as Sequoia was still the OS after the reboot BUT, it's fixed the issue in Chrome and I no longer get the error message ""To cast, give Chrome access in system settings." Chromecast is working again for me.

can confirm the reinstall method, with no other settings altered, has casting working perfectly ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Here is the solution. it helped me to resolve this issue. check google chrome in local network.
