Tesco website- Accept/ Reject privacy settings popup stuck on.

This has been a problem for weeks now, I can’t believe that nobody at Tesco has noticed it.

The popup does not react to any ‘pressing’ of the ‘Accept’ or ‘Reject’ tabs, it just remains glued to the bottom of the screen.

It appears to be impossible to contact Tesco unless you have social media.

This started around (?) the same time I upgraded from an ipad mini 4th gen to a mini 6th gen and updated to ipad ios 17…..

Is it possible that these could have an effect, it’s not a problem I’ve noticed on any other website.

Are you using an Ad or Content Blocker App with your iPad?

If yes, tap the icon at the left side of the URL (address) field (this may be an aA icon for iPadOS 17.x or earlier - iPadOS 18.x has a different icon, as illustrated below). From the menu, select Turn Off Content Blockers.

After the webpage reloads, you should be able to dismiss the cookie acceptance/privacy pop-up.

You're very welcome. I'm delighted that the issue was easily identified and resolved.

Keep a note of this fix - as you will likely encounter other badly designed websites that have privacy/cookie-acceptance pop-ups that don't play nicely with modern (secure) browsers. For these sites, you simply need to temporarily relax your browser security settings to dismiss the pop-up - after which the site usually works as expected.
