Airpod Pro 2nd gen as hearing aids - feature request

Have been using the APP 2nd gen for hearing aids for elderly parent (87y/o), going on close to 2 years now. Followed an online procedure setup, installed separate app for doing a hearing test, set up/applied profile, etc. Works very nicely for him. Thank you for adding this!

However, it would be EXTREMELY helpful if once a setting is made, the APP 2 stays in that setting, and doesn't ever get changed unless intentionally (which is not the case in our experience). Once the APP 2 are set in transparency mode, if using as hearing aids, the setup should never change. Too many times (at least 2-3 times a month), I have to explain/show how to change the APP2 in settings from 'Noise Cancellation' or 'Adaptive' back to 'Transparency' because the setting changed arbitrarily while charging and/or not in use. If I set the mode to transparency, it should stay that setting no matter how many times the earpieces go in/out of the case, or no matter what happens environmentally. Parent thinks the APP 2 hearing aid setup is no longer working, they aren't charging, or otherwise appear to be turned off when the settings change 'on it's own', for whatever reason.

While I love the interaction with parent on this....it is a point of frustration for them, as I'm not always around to help technically (they live 5m away in an adult/apartment community), nor are they able to remember/walk through the steps on their own, as they have varying days of memory with dementia.

If there's a setting I'm missing somewhere to force the APP 2 to always stay in 'Transparency' mode, it'd be ever so helpful to find it.

Sorry I don't know of a way, yet am no expert in this area., so there may be a setting or two.

Eg: Apple support's online article: Active Noise Cancellation and Transparency modes for AirPods - Apple Support

says:

"You can switch between noise control modes directly from your AirPods Pro"

and

"You can customise which modes to switch between in Bluetooth settings on your iPhone, iPad or Mac".

Also: Change the settings of your AirPods and AirPods Pro - Apple Support

says

"By default, when you press and hold the force sensor on the stem of your left or right AirPod,

your AirPods switch between Active Noise Cancellation and Transparency mode".

and

you can: "Change the press-and-hold action on AirPods Pro:" :

If you need more help in the short term:

Wondering if Apple's Accessibility Support team may be able to suggest a way:

If you still need a more permanent solution:

You may want to send feedback, or a feature request, to reach those who work behind-the-scenes at Apple. They will likely not reply, yet your feedback will reach those who can make changes if others are also requesting that. We may see an update that will overcome the issue.
